A Nintendo Easter egg was found in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate references Mario's brother Luigi

Just when I think I've seen everything, somebody always comes along and proves me wrong. That's quite alright with me, since it makes life more enjoyable. Such is the case with a cute Easter egg that someone found in the Castlevania game Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. I thought we were done looking at that particular Konami game, but it's still getting some attention. How about a Nintendo based Easter egg that references Luigi, Mario's Brother? Yes, the world of two totally different game companies clash together in an unusual, but interesting way.

Here is the reference point. The kitchen area of MOF has pipes running through it, and along the way you will discover a dead body. Dead bodies within the game leave scrolls lying around. Scrolls which tell a tale of the last words and thoughts of that particular person. One of them had a Nintendo reference written upon it relating to Mario's brother Luigi, as you can see in the picture below. The video also showcases and explains the matter a bit better from a fellow who took the time to point out where exactly you can find it.

The Belmont clan sees a permanent price reduction for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate at both eShop and retail outlets

Back in March, when the latest Castlevania game Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate took off, the reaction to a 3D handheld title was a bit of a mixed one. Some praised it, while others didn't want to accept the prospect of moving away from the traditional "MetroidVania" type Castlevania we all have grown up with. Well, if you've played the demo, or have been doing what a number of others sometimes do, and waiting for a priced reduction, then now might be time to pounce upon this one. Both eShop and retail outlets now have LOS - Mirror of Fate for a new lower price of $30, a 10 buck difference than what it was before.

Being somewhat of a sequel to Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate stars the three main characters we all know of, Trevor Belmont from Dracula's Curse, Simon Belmont from the first one and Simon's Quest, and also my personal favorite, Dracula's son Alucard, from Symphony of the Night. Mirror of Fate got mixed reviews, some good, and others not so much. If you haven't played it yet, but are curious to see if this particular Castlevania is right down your alley, you can check out some game play footage below to get an idea about it. The demo should be available on eShop as well to try out.
