Konami releases information for the Latin America covers and downloadable content on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 at the GamesCom event this week

A few days ago, Konami had already released news about its addition of the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional or (ANFP), which added 18 of Chile's finest teams to the PES lineup. Thanks to the GamesCom event recently, they've now released the covers for its Latin America lineup as well. Here is the press release info on what they've launched so far.

Brazil: The Brazil PES 2014 cover reaffirms the licensing of 21 teams throughout the country and features some of the country's most renowned stars and teams including Santos, Palmeiras and Corinthians. Complete with kits and stadiums and local announcers, Brazilians will feel at home with PES 2014.

Argentina: New to the franchise this year, is the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) Primera División brings all 20 top level teams (and some of the corresponding home stadiums) into Pro Evolution Soccer 2014.  KONAMI has also enlisted the talents of national football announcers and FOX Sports commentators, Mariano Closs and Fernando Neimbro, to call the action in each game. Some of the premier teams that will be included are River Plate, Boca Juniors, Newell's Old Boys and Racing.

Chile: During the Festigame convention in Santiago, Chile, PES announced an agreement with the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP) to bring all 18 Primera División teams to Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. The teams include Colo Colo, Universidad de Chile, Universidad Católica, Cobreloa, Unión Española, and more.  In addition, PES 2014 will also feature local announcers Fernando Solabarrieta and Patricio ("Pato") Yáñez, to call the action.

Latin America: PES 2014 also features a region wide cover, which pays homage to the Copa Bridgestone Libertadores teams, which are exclusively licensed in PES 2014.

Aside from the Latin America additions, Konami has also released news on the DLC packs being introduced. If you pre-order PES 2014, you will receive special codes to unlock the new content. These involve classic Latin American and European kits to the main game, which include famed sides such as AC Milan (1989-90), Manchester United (1998-99), Santos (1968), Colo Colo (1992) and Boca Juniors (1997).

A digital pre-order will land you current third kits for teams such as Manchester United, Inter Milan and Juventus.  Roster updates, new kit elements and additional DLC will also be regularly available during Pro Evolution Soccer 2014's lifespan. Pro Evolution Soccer will release in UK on September 20th, a few days before the North American release on the 24th, which is the same day FIFA launches. Being backed by the Fox Engine this time around, it'll be interesting to see the outcome this year when the two titans go head to head for the gold medal with soccer fans.

PES 2014 will launch for Xbox360, PS3, PC, and PSP. No next generation platforms are planned, nor a Wii-U, 3DS, or PSVita versions are on the table due to a lack of demand. Yes, there still is a demand for the ever aging PSP, which is still holding its own in Japan with a firm grip.  Check out the latest trailer for PES 2014 below, which highlights some of the ball handling and blocking systems being introduced this year.

By the way, nice comparison between PES 2013 and PES 2014 someone created below. You can certainly see a noticable difference using the Fox Engine.

Dracula, the prince of darkness is here to drain all of your blood with a new GamesCom trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

For those of you who just can't wait to see what it's like playing the role of Dracula, for the first time in Castlevania history that is, you're in for a treat. Konami has just released a new trailer at the GamesCom event in Cologne, Germany. In the new trailer for Lords of Shadow 2, Dracula's abilities is the main focus. How he fights, builds his strength using the void sword, and the ability of "Sync Block", a move that needs some decent timing to pull off. No orb collecting this time around, instead, you use the void sword to kill enemies, draining their blood and adding to your own life force, provided you don't take any damage in the process.

Dracula's role is a rather sad one. You've had your skills and power stripped from you. You are a vampire without a home, or rather castle. So it's time you get your revenge, blood sucking style, as you make your way through a gigantic world, building your powers and skill levels in the process. Dave Cox, the head cheese of MercurySteam indicated a short while back that most players will only see about 50-60% of the entire game. From that, I'm assuming this time we are looking at one heck of a non linear title.

When can you sink your fangs into Lords of Shadow 2? How about February 25th 2014. I was hoping for an earlier release date, but then again, we don't want to rush perfection do we? The PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 will get their taste of blood by then.

The new Pro Evolution Soccer video puts a laser beam on their UEFA Champions League licence, one day after FIFA

I never thought this thing would go the distance, and yet it has. This year is the ultimate year for soccer fans, as the new PES 2014, and FIFA are going neck and neck to see who the superior format is. With the Fox Engine backing PES this year, could they be the one to take home the gold medal this time? The end of September is the only time to answer that question, so for now, let's take a look at the new video Konami has released at the GamesCom event in Cologne, Germany. This latest video puts a fine laser beam on the UEFA Champions League licence that PES is boasting this year.

The video also showcases the Celtics? An interesting choice Konami, and the video has a rather up close and personal perspective of how PES demonstrates the passing and blocking features this time around. The control system? That should take some getting used to, as you will be learning how to play Pro Evolution Soccer all over again, thanks to the new and unique TrueBall and Heart concepts introduced. Oh and by the way, for those who claim the Heart feature hurts the game play, Konami has indicated a while back that this option can be turned off, for those who don't like it. Fair enough. Check out the new video below and tell me what you think about it. Three and a half minutes of a welcome treat we've been waiting on since the E3 show event took place.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 gets its first GamesCom trailer, which showcases the UEFA Champions League licensing is all of its glory

Things are going so fast, I can't even keep up! That's a good thing right? So onto the good stuff. Now that the GamesCom event has taken off in Cologne, Germany, some all new footage for the latest PES 2014 game has been released, which lasts a healthy 3 minutes, 40 seconds. I imagine this is only the first of a number of more game play videos that will hit the scene before the new PES hits the world by storm this September 20th in Europe, followed by a North American release on September 24th.

PES will launch on various formats, which include Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The PSP will see a version for itself, but no Wii-U, PSVita, or 3DS will see a version due to lack of demand. There are also no current plans to bring the new Fox Engine based PES to next generation consoles. Some might consider that blasphemy. What do you think?

Today is the day for the kickoff at the GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, where Konami will demonstrate demos for PES 2014 and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

We've all waited for this for a long time, and now it has finally arrived. The GameCom in Cologne, Germany kicks off today, where Konami will be showing demos of the new PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) 2014 and the latest in the Castlevania realm, Lords of Shadow 2. This will also be among a line up of other titles not yet announced, since we are just now in day 1 of all its glory. Personally, among these titles I'm really hoping to hear some more about an upcoming new Metal Gear game, perhaps Ground Zeroes could be on that list? We can only hope and dream at the moment.

Back to PES 2014. Since this is likely the most or at least one of the most popular titles in history, due to its large desire across Europe and other parts of the world, Konami will be showing off some of the special new features of the game, which include of course the UEFA Champions League mode, the "TrueBall" handling system, the emotion driven "heart" concept, among many others being introduced for the first time in Pro Evolution Soccer history. Many a fan can't wait to try it out, as I can't wait to post some new game play footage here for you to see.

On the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 front, a demo for it will be displayed as well, involving an even bigger world far above the first LOS. Dave Cox mentioned a while back that most players will only see 50-60% of the game, as it contains many non linear paths to choose from. For the first time, the gamer will get to play as Dracula, a definite first in Castlevania history, drawing blood from your enemies to sustain your own unholy existence. The GamesCom will last the rest of the week, and should yield some new insight as to what will be coming out this year, and next year as well. Stay tuned.

Could Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes be announced at this years GamesCom event?, Hideo Kojima will announce a new title soon

The looming announcement of a new game, espeically when it's from Kojima Productions usually means one thing, Metal Gear. Kojima has announced that a new game will be talked about at this years GamesCom event, which takes place in Cologne, Germany. We now know that The Phantom Pain is still pretty far off into the future, within the fiscal year of late 2014 to early 2015. That's a given by now, but what about Ground Zeroes? That is a name that hasn't been discussed in a long time, and it's well overdue. Could that be the announcement Kojima is talking about? We will find out shortly, as the GamesCom event takes off tomorrow for a four day event.

Among these four days, some new information might also surface for The Phantom Pain and Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. It's also about time for a full blown demo of PES 2014 so we can all finally try out those new concept systems and moves they've been discussing for a while now. The GamesCom should answer some of those questions if we are lucky enough. With the PS4 and Xbox One hanging over our heads, we would all like to know what's going on in that arena as well.
