A data pack 2 trailer for Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (Winning Eleven 14) is out, and shows some of the new add on features

Since Konami released the long awaited data pack 2 for Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (Winning Eleven), what are the new features you will be finally getting this time around? A quick list and a video should help you along for those who have been eagerly awaiting on the latest patch. First, how about 800 new player faces, which back by the Fox Engine, you can also see the team rosters are now correct and true to the teams they've been transferred to.

A great 11vs11 mode is added as well as an app called the myPES app for your iOS device. Konami says Android devices will be coming shortly, so not to worry. Among these is your ability to shart status reports with other players, which include passing, shots, and so fourth. As soon as the user gets online, if you haven't already you should receive a prompt to install the latest data pack 2, and your going to want every last shred of it. Offline users can still keep using the application with Konami introducing a scanning mode which will keep track of your information.

This year even I was convinced that PES would outperform their long time sitting EA rival FIFA. It's been a struggle for Konami, but hopefully the online issues that plagued PES 2014 upon its launched are now being redeemed to a degree. Go ahead and check out the video below to give you a heads up of what you'll be getting with the latest pack.

Winning Eleven 2014 is now released in South Korea and Japan for hand held formats PSP and Nintendo 3DS

Winning Eleven is what Pro Evolution Soccer is called in both Japan and South Korea. Fans there of the series can now enjoy Winning Eleven 2014, as it has been launched on both Nintendo 3DS and PSP (Playstation Portable) formats. Longtime fans can now take their favorite soccer game on the road and compete against friends and rivals in this all newly redone soccer game from Konami. PS3 owners will get a taste too there finally as well. This time around the new title will be based on Konami's exclusive and famous Fox Engine, one designed to deliver a more realistic experience and give a deeper feel of actually being there during game play.

So far almost 84.9 million copies of World Soccer Winning Eleven (PES) have been sold over the years, making it one of the hottest selling soccer games to date. The set price for launch is about 2,980 yen for portable versions and 7,980 yen for PS3. This ranges for downloaded and store bought versions of the game.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 might have gotten off to a bumpy start, but the new free data pack is here to save face

Did I say "save face", that should actually read "add faces", like 800 of them. The new data pack 2 coming later this month from Konami will give PES 2014 the lift that it desperately needed. We are about a month and a half into the launch of the new PES, which suffered some online play issues that left many a fan in the dust. The data pack 2 should put a band aid on that mistake, as it will add not only 800 new faces, but the team rosters will be completely up to date, and making sure that every player is on the right team. You can see from the images below that the visual quality is better than PES has ever been in the past.

Among the new updates, are some additions that the PES community has been desiring for a long time. Game play tweaks, chat elements, and the newly introduced 11 Vs 11 mode you've all been waiting on. A team lobby system was added, along with the games competition mode now including online enhancements, as well as a Master League Online mode. New kits are there, along with sponsorships for various teams. What about the boots? Mizuno, Addidas, Nike, and Puma are all there too, can't live without those can we? Those will be available by way of the games edit function. All of this and more can be found in the new data pack, with more yet to come. Even though Pro Evolution Soccer this year got off to somewhat of a bumpy start, things are turning around it seems.

At long last, Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 has had its online mode fixed, along with the Master League mode

It's been just a bit over a month now since PES 2014 launched with hits plague of problems. Online users who wanted to duke it out with friends and rivals were somewhat left in the dust. That was either with a slow performance experience, or none at all. Konami has been working around the clock to fix the issue, and has struck a eureka moment with their newly released patch. Along with fixing the online mode, Master League mode has been fixed too, as well well as the problems PES had with the data packs Konami put out.

The recent press release issued by Konami also reveals that in a few weeks, you will have access to an 11-VS-11 mode, as well as roster updates, 800 new player face updates, and more improvements and fixes that the feedback from players were asking and demanding for. Those will be arriving sometime in November, as no exact date has been given yet. The current update for fixing the online issue and getting Master League functionality can be installed automatically from your new Pro Evolution Soccer game. Have fun and see you on the soccer field!

This is one of those funny glitches in Pro Evolution Soccer you can't help but watch more than once

As games have gotten bigger and bigger over the years, they've also gotten more complicated. In the process, you're going to have a glitch or two by the time you reach the end product. Pro Evolution Soccer is certainly no exception to the rule, as over the years the series has seen its share of patches and fixes to accommodate what beta testing somewhat failed to discover. Since day one, PES 2014 has had some issues with online players not being able to do just that,.....and get online.

The latest glitch discovery however is a rather welcome one, because it actually serves a whole different purpose. It's really funny. I do love seeing glitches like the one below, which usually occur from the game being rushed just a tad too fast through production. What you're looking at is Lanus and Tigre in Argentina having somewhat of a ride across the field, sort of "piggyback style".

I just did a similar post about a few funny glitches in the original Metal Gear Solid game for PS1 a few days ago. I'll go ahead and post that video again for you to laugh at since you're already here. If you know of any others of a hilarious nature and would like to share or point it out to me, I'll be happy to do a post here about it. In the meantime, tell me what you think about this newly discovered and yet silly glitch below in the comment section.

It's been a hard days night and Konami is not sleeping like a log over PES 2014, but help is on the way

What went wrong with PES 2014? Here is somewhat of a breakdown with the patch issues, starting from day one. The day one patch made it difficult, if impossible for many to get online to rival their friends in a match. This problem was isolated to the Xbox 360 version, in which a patch was meant to make sure that all of the players had retained the same information about leagues, clubs, and other info. Instead, after the player had a long wait to even get the patch, once downloaded he/she got an error message that the patch that downloaded was not even valid.

Konami is not without merit on the situation however, and has said that a new patch is on the way that will ensure players can get online without problems. Along with the working patch fix, other new features are being implemented too, along with an 11vs11 multiplayer match mode. It's been almost a month now since Pro Evolution Soccer (Winning Eleven) launched across the world, and I don't recall ever seeing it this bad. But then again, the latest PES game has undergone a massive transition in not only terms of its game play mechanics, but also the Fox Engine treatment it's had. Oh well, there's always next year for what could have been a real comeback.

Konami lends a helping hand with updates on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, as they apologize for the online issues

What to do, what to do. A frustration you just might have for those who can't get online and play against their friends and rivals in the new Pro Evolution Soccer game. Konami has issued an apology for those who are still having problems, and has made some statements in regards.

"We would like to apologise to any users who have been unable to enjoy PES2014 online and would like to reassure fans we'll be fixing the issue as quickly as possible." "In the meantime, we're setting up a special section on the PES 2014 site to keep users up to date on issues, feedback and general help with the product,

They also state that they are working closely with Microsoft to  try to resolve the issue as fast as possible. Many a fan were turned off by the issues that plagued them from the "day one patch", which in turn made players want to return their copy of PES 2014 back to the store from whence it came. I can understand the feeling, but for those of you who are clinging onto their copy and waiting for better days, be sure to check out that link above to keep up on updates Konami is bring to light as they try to mop up the mess along the way.

Along with the fixes, comes a new patch on the shelf soon that will add some new additions like a nice 11 versus 11 mode. In view of EA's foothold they've been having with licensing on their FIFA title, perhaps the wait will be worth it for PES this year.

G-Cluster Cloud gaming and Konami push beyond the boundaries once again with the latest Pro Evolution Soccer game

One drawback that gaming consoles have always had is, they get old. When something does get old, it's often discarded or forgotten, as it becomes time to move onto something new and fresh. The ever aging Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles are already on the edge of replacement with next generation systems. So get ready to fork out big cash if you want to stay ahead of the curve, something a number of gamers are getting tired of doing. One company has seen fit to put an end to that, and it's already been going on for over a decade now. They are called G-Cluster Cloud services.

What service do they provide?, how about the latest in games fed through your broadband connection, no matter what device you are using. How is that possible? The processing power is done as the server side, not from your own device, a fascinating concept. One that should save you money for those of us who have not so deep pockets. Their latest contribution thanks to both G-Cloud and Konami is the new Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 title, as it has just launched on the Cloud gaming platform. The biggest IPTV provider in Europe called Orange will help deliver PES 2014 to your living room soon, along with other G-Cluster partners in on the action.

"G-cluster and Konami push innovation further in cloud gaming", so says the Senior Vice president of strategy and content Sevan Kessissian. Earlier this year also had the launch of PES 2013, for those of you who didn't want to get a handle on this year's Fox Engine based release, and are still holding on to last year's title. If you want to find out more about Cloud Gaming and what it has to offer you, check out the official site for it here.

In the meantime, how about a Japanese commercial video for Cloud Gaming to get you geared up?

One site did see fit to give Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 a helping hand review so far

Following Konami and other related elements thereof have brought to light some interesting things that sometimes don't get reported. Whether it's fan made material for Castlevania, Metal Gear, Silent Hill or whatever, it's all worth taking a look at, and sometimes posting about. Well, recently PES 2014 has taken some heat for the day one patch issues that led to some not being able to get online. Aside from that, I've seen mixed reviews about how PES was better this year in many ways unlike before, while others have totally bashed it based on the fact that EA has secured most of the licensing agreements, which some believe makes the difference in how a soccer game is accepted.

Well, one site has stood out from the crowd, and has given this year's Pro Evolution Soccer game a 4 out of 5. A very high regard for a new PES that's been overhauled in more ways than one. The name of the site is called Telegraph.UK, which has a technology section dedicated to video games as well. Their review is pretty in depth for those of you still deciding between FIFA and PES, and should give you a better insight as to which game to fork your hard earned money out for. Take a look, and give me some feedback if you like as to what you think about this year's Konami soccer hit.

4 out of 5, we'll take that, thanks guys! RT @Telegraph Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 review fw.to/2R9JhzN #PES2014

I've got the Pro Evolution Soccer blues, so bad, and the only way to fix it is to get rid of these annoying online play issues

Picture this in your mind. You buy a game, bring it home, anticipation building in your head the whole time as you can't wait to hurl it into your game system and immediately get online to compete with your friends and rivals. Friends who keep telling you that they are going to hand your rear end to you this year. Then it happens. You run into those usual buggy issues where you have a game that just got released, perhaps a little too quickly. Such is the case with PES 2014. Did Konami release it a little too fast? Some are starting to think so, as the forum posts are starting to pile up so fast it'll make your head spin.

The latest online issues PES is having, involves people having no choice but to install a data pack, that in turn doesn't always guarantee success, thereby frustrating the player and making them want to return their game for a refund. Currently Konami is trying to pull a rabbit out of their hat to rescue their dedicated PES fans from another Saturday night and not having nobody. Adam Bhatti is asking people to be patient and wait for a fix, while he himself has posted a temporary fix to the problem that should help most to get their PES groove on before they get too mad.

But back to you, I want to hear your feedback on how you feel about the issue. Do you think Konami rushed Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 out the door a bit too fast? On top of that, what other elements do you think should have been included in this year's release?

Thứ Năm, 26 tháng 9, 2013

One site takes its sweet time to break down the elements of the PES 2014 vs FIFA 2014 issue, and does it quite well

Sometimes it's a waiting game isn't it? I mean, you watch the videos, look at the trailers, come to news sites like this one to keep up with what's going on with your favorite game series, and then wait. You play the waiting game *after* the game officially launches to see what the reviews are like before you even dare go out and spend your hard earned money on a video game. In this economy, no one is to blame for that in the least. Every year is no different with the controversy over PES vs FIFA, which one will be better this year. Although PES 2013 held its own, as a rather strong second place to some last year, how well will 2014 do against EA's FIFA giant this time around?

One site has already taken some serious time to answer that question for you, and trust me, after reading the review they wrote, it is anything but biased. If there is one thing I hate, its a one sided review, based on the favoritism that the reviewer themselves had for one particular game. That's not a review, its a preference, period. The site is called WhatCulture, and has made a splendid review for both FIFA 2014 AND PES2014, giving pros and cons to both sides in a bipartisan manner. For those of you who are still thinking about which soccer game to get this year, this should give you the nudge you need to help you out.

The North American launch trailer is out for Pro Evolution Soccer, and shows some of the various teams doing their stuff

Looks like this will be the final launch trailer for the new Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 game that just hit the store recently, as Konami has a new one out demonstrating some of the various teams. Teams such as Brazil, European clubs, Chile, and more. PES 2014 has however, gotten off to a rocky start, but even with the mixed reactions coming from multiple areas, the fixes should come in time and bring about the kind of game play the fans have been anticipating all this time. (Hopefully)

Part of the problems included the lack of Spanish stadiums, a stadium editor, rainy weather, and now some online issues because of the day one patch being botched a bit. Konami has stated that a fix is on the way, but not given a release time for it. For those of you still having trouble, a fix was made by Adam Bhatti that I posted about a few days ago you can check out. It should temporarily solved the issue until an official fix comes out for it.

The road to a Fox Engine makeover with PES has had its ups and downs, but how does it affect the fan base?

From what I've been hearing now the new Pro Evolution Soccer game is out in stores everywhere, is a bit of a mixed reaction. The Fox Engine has shined a new light as far as making the game look more appealing, but in the end it's always about how well the game plays, not to mention the ability to modify and edit the game to the player's liking. Since the word got out that there would be no stadium editor, Spanish stadiums, or lack of rainy whether, this was also on top of the day one patch causing some issues with online play. Perhaps PES this time around was rushed a little too fast, but there might be some hope on the horizon. Polygon has recently sat down and had a nice long interview with Konami's Timothy Blair to answer some of those all important questions about the future of PES.

Here are just some of what he said......

"For us, it makes sense as a business, as a company, to be using assets that we're producing in other franchises," said Blair. The engine had a learning curve for the developers, he added. But now that they have a year of experience with it, they're much better prepared to bring Konami's soccer franchise to next-generation consoles, presumably in 2014.

"It definitely puts us in a much better position for future versions of PES — not only on PS3, but even for PS4 and Xbox One," said Blair. "That's part of the reason why we're not — it sounds counter intuitive, but — we're not doing [next-gen] this year, because we [...] don't want to simply just port whatever game we have on the PS3 over to PS4."

"We figured, 'You know what? We want to make a splash when we actually come out on PS4 and Xbox One,' and the way to do that is to get it right," Blair explained. "And I don't think — with an annual release like this — it's that easy, because you're focusing on putting out your current-gen [version] at the same time as your next-gen [version]."

I don't want to go too far into it, as it is Polygon's own interview, but you can head there now and read the rest of the interview to get a better insight as to what Konami has in store for Pro Evolution Soccer's future. Perhaps this year's release might serve as a platform for a better title next time. The Fox Engine can only go so far, as EA has really put the clamp down on the licensing agreements, which seems to be where the real high dollar is.

The PES 2014 "Day One Patch" has left a number of players sitting in the dark, but Konami says a fix is on the way

For you PES fans trying to get online, the day one patch might have caused your feathers to get in quite a ruffle. The patch was meant to allow new online modes to be available, but many are complaining that not only was it causing problems, but you couldn't even get online for some. Not to mention even install the darn thing. But Konami knows about the issue, and has said they are working on a quick fix. Until that time, Adam Bhatti has suggested that you try this solution to at least solve your PES woes for right now. Here are the details below.

Datapack broken fix

1 - Download both files:
http://baranowscy.pl/datapack/

2 - Download Horizon:
http://www.xboxmb.com/horizon/

3 - Now you need a USB stick pre-formatted on Xbox
How to Configure any USB Flash Drive as Storage on Xbox 360:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I49Fy04OHI

4 - Transfer the files to the USB pen (with Horizon)

5 - Transfer the files from the USB stick to the console hard-drive (System Settings -> Storage -> USB Stick -> Games -> PES 2014 -> press Y -> copy to Xbox hard-drive

Enjoy yourself.

Hopefully, a new patch is on the horizon and will actually be Pro Evolution Soccer's real "day one patch".

New patches are on the way already for Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, as Konami rolls out some details for online and match maker features

Konami doesn't waste any time do they? So much the better, as PES 2014 will be getting some new patches that will allow multi player modes. The first day will include a patch for allowing matchmaking and leader boards, which will be called the "Friendly Match Lobby" and "Ranking Match System". The second patch will be released in a few weeks, and will allow for some great online elements, which will pair up players that have nearly the same skill with a match making feature. The other feature includes a multi player mode called "11 V 11"

So far Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 is now out in the UK and other parts, while North America waits until next Tuesday the 24th for their release. So far from what I've been seeing from the reviews, PES this year is doing quite well. The Fox Engine and new player system might have something to do with it I'm sure. This is aside from the other flaws it may have to some. Still deciding on if should dive into the new PES? Check out one of the more recent videos below to help you out.

One final take on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, before it comes out tomorrow and shows the world if it can hold a candle to FIFA

For years now, PES and FIFA have been going head to head for the right to claim soccer game of the year, while FIFA just kept on bringing the gold medal home. All while polishing it in front of the faces of die hard PES fans. This year might, just might be different, as even though the series has undergone some upgrades, face lifts, and other changes, they still had yet to compete with FIFA's leading edge. One of the main edges usually being their licensing agreements. Since EA has been somewhat of a king in the sports department, it seems a bit hard to beat them at their own game.

This year could be different, since Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 has not only been overhauled by the might Fox Engine, but also has introduced an all new play system. TrueBall and Heart are just for starters, along with an improved online experience, which also forbids cheaters from getting away with just that, cheating. But even though the addition of all of these nice things, in the wake of a non existent stadium editor, the lack of Spanish stadiums, and well, dry weather, "whether" you like it or not due to no rain might cause some issues for at least a few players, minus the die hard fan base out there.

The true side by side comparison starts tomorrow, with UK fans getting a first taste of PES 2014, followed by North America on the 24th. But tomorrow marks the day that the game play videos will start launching left and right on YouTube and heaven knows where else. It'll be interesting once again this year, and especially this year to see how the two titans stack up against each other. I myself am hoping that PES at least runs an even closer second to FIFA than it did last year, giving Konami a better foundation on which to build next year's game.

What does PES need to do in order to hold its own against FIFA?, a number of things come to mind

The past few years when it comes to soccer has brought to surface one question. PES or FIFA? Which one is right for you. The battle has been a divided one, with PES always taking a back seat to FIFA in recent  years. Now some of you are asking yourself, what gives? I'll tell you what gives, the immense aggressiveness of EA's licensing agreements, which is a major element to soccer fans. This year Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 has been not only overhauled, but given a new game play system along with a Fox Engine makeover that just might be the fix it needs to hold its own against FIFA. Or will it?

Here we are just two days away from finding out if it was worth it or not. The lack of Spanish stadiums, a stadium editor, and rainy whether might put a dent in the glory of being a strong rival, but PES has struggled quite a bit in the licensing department. So let me ask you the question, what does the series need to do in order to strongly compete for 1st place? It'll be interesting to see how the fans react over the next couple of weeks, as the reviews and impressions come pouring in. Hit or miss, that's the focus for the new Pro Evolution Soccer game.

Thứ Ba, 17 tháng 9, 2013

How would you like to have your own unique team in Pro Evolution Soccer?, you can thanks to Konami's edit mode

What usually never changes about soccer games? Same faces, same team. No so this time around with the new PES 2014, thanks to Konami for implementing a new edit mode function. With edit mode, you can import your own images and customize your team like never before! Feel free to have an all new unique team which is like no other in the world! Certainly something you will want to share and perhaps rival with friends and compete with other teams. To demonstrate this new edit mode, Konami has decided to release yet another trailer which showcases it in some detail. You should get a good idea from the new video on how exactly edit mode works.

As another reminder, here we are just 3 days away from the official release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, for the UK that is. September 20th is their date, while North America gets their release next week on the 24th. The new PES is slated to release on current generation consoles, Xbox 360, and PS3. The PSP will see a version, but not Wii-U, 3DS, or PSVita. Why? A lack of demand for those formats.

Pro Evolution Soccer gets a Master League trailer, which shows a few new modes in the wake of its game play

Now that the latest demo for PES 2014 is out, a new trailer has followed behind it which shows a few new modes to boot. First up to the plate, is the Master League, the "Become a Legend" mode, and last but not least the Master League Online mode, something online fans should enjoy. This is in the wake of only a handful of days until the official release of PES, which is still a slight debate on how it will hold its own against FIFA this year.

The Fox Engine, check, some interesting new game play modes, such as "TrueBall" and "Heart", no problem. Sufficient stadiums, stadium editor, and rain effects......well, not so much. A few compromises had to take place this time around.EA's agressive pursuit for team licensing had also played a role in the matter. Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will launch in the UK on the 20th, with North America seeing its release a few days later on the 24th. The head to head competition, or rather how the fans of both titles will respond will be anything but uninteresting this year.
