All things big and small with Yu-Gi-Oh! as Sioux city residents take part each Thursday and Saturday in tournaments

Who says Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments have to be a gigantic world wide attraction. You and local residents can stage your own tournaments in town just as well! Just like these young fellows in Sioux City who participate for a small $5 entry fee to see who is the best of the best in dueling action. Locally that is of course. Winners don't exactly take home ultimate prizes like thousands of dollars, or the latest gaming system and many other high priced goodies. They rather take home extra card decks, store credit, and of course, local bragging rights among their friends and rivals.

Nothing wrong with a small town get together Yu-Gi-Oh! style, and as you can see they are having just as much fun as the big boys in the big tournaments. This story is from the Sioux City Journal, and makes for some entertaining reading if you wish. All things big and small, and always welcomed.

What kind of an idiot robs a comic book store and the only thing he steals is Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and no money?

Yu-Gi-Oh! has not only attracted more and more attention over the years, it has gotten so popular that world wide tournaments and events take place where duelists can duke it out. Every collector on that note wants the best and most rare cards they can get their hands on. Some on the other hand, actually go a step further and take to stealing them. One such idiot took to that task, and did it at knife point. An Omaha comic book store by the name of "Dragon's Lair Comics" (Dirk the Daring reference?) is a small store that sells items in the card, comics, and even arcade department.

The man literally walked into the store, wearing a Darth Vader sweatshirt on top of that, and demanded no cash, no comics, only Yu-Gi-Oh! cards worth about $150. That's it. That's all the fool wanted was a tin full of cards, and not a penny more to boot. His rent must be paid up already, or he is on some kind of sick drug. The fellow pointed out to the owner Bob Gellner the cards he wanted to see, and when they were brought over to him, the Darth Vader shirt wearing robber drew a knife on him, and then took off.

“I’ve had this business here for 35 years and this is the first time we’ve been robbed,” said owner Bob. We’ve been burglarized. We called the police and they caught them, but this is the first time we’ve been robbed.”

Since last night, so far the robber has not been found, nor any leads made as of yet. There is a video report from WOWT 6 News you can check out, who officially covered the story. Let me know what you think about this tidbit of nonsense in the comment section below. For more information about Dragon's Lair Comics and Games, visit their homepage for details and products.

Who in their right mind would pay ten million dollars for a rare Yu-Gi-Oh! card?, I'm sure someone will fork out that much for it

I've been following the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! for years now, so I can at least say I'm quite established with the franchise and all it stands for. Well, maybe I'm not quite to that point just yet, as every now and then I keep seeing matters like this one pop up. A one of a kind super rare Yu-Gi-Oh! card worth a ridiculous and yet incredible ten million dollars! You hear right, there is no other one in the world like it, and when that sort of thing happens, prices tend to go up, way up. The Japanese owner selling this one of a kind rare card for ten million dollars, or 998 million yen is justifying the purchase price due to the simple FACT that it's a single print card only.

Not only that, you cannot use this particular card in a tournament. Now why would I do that? If it were mine, it would be in a home based bank vault with a high tech security system to boot. I would be too afraid to even touch it with my hands, sort of like a mint condition baseball card from the late 1920's. Too expensive for your wallet? I'm sure in time someone will gladly fork out that kind of dough just for the bragging rights alone. After all, Bill Gates paid 28 million dollars for a painting one time, yet it's amazing how a Yu-Gi-Oh! card managed to get that expensive. Check out the site where it's being sold, assuming it's still there by the time you read this article. Now tell me something, do you think it's worth it?
