Hideo Kojima shows the world a work in progress figure of Solid Snake (Big Boss) from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

He tweets, he surprises, he even sometimes shocks the world with certain announcements. Kind of like the one he did when he first introduced to the fans the concept of an open world Metal Gear Solid title. When Hideo Kojima tweets however, that's sometimes when we learn of what is currently happening with his latest project. Like The Phantom Pain for instance. The world wants more information, and when they get it, it's usually not enough, but enough to last you for a little while.

Well, here is something to last you for at least a day. It's a work in progress model, or figurine of our beloved Solid Snake (also known as Big Boss) from The Phantom Pain. As you can see in both pictures, this is only a very early model being shown, since it has somewhat of a way to go before its final completion. But it does give you a small sample of what sort of elements go into the production of the new Metal Gear title, and what it takes to develop it. I personally wouldn't mind having even an incomplete figure like this one sitting on my computer desk to eyeball each day.

Who knows, Kojima did mention a while back that there will be some toys and goodies that get released after the launch of The Phantom Pain, so my wish and likely yours too just might come true. In the meantime, one can only drool over these 2 photos and wonder what the finished product will finally look like.
