Who would have thought. Metal Gear and Legos getting together and having children, or rather gaming offsprings. Indie developer Mike Bithell has always been a fan of both Legos and Metal Gear games, as he has made a second title after his first famous title called "Thomas Was Alone". This time around, he is calling the second game "Volume", a unique game that combines Metal Gear with the world of Legos forming a game that requires lots of stealth, but no combat action. Simply moving around, stealing what you can, avoiding detection by either sneaking, or using the art of distraction in a type of midevil and cyberpunk type setting.
Mike Bithell wanted something different this time around, and yet the result is quite similar to the Metal Gear Solid VR missions from back in the late 90's on the PS1 game system. There *will* be the option to knock the guards out by using a blackjack baton, it's just most of your movements will be a stealth and sneaking nature, while stealing anything and everything you can get your hands on.
Due out in late 2014, you can view the official site for Volume, which has a few more screen shots available and where you can also sign up for a newsletter to receive updates and the latest news for Volume, and perhaps other projects they are involved with. The new trailer for it is posted below, and shows some nice game play footage and just how a Metal Gear "Lego" game looks and operates. The top video is the big one however, and is 11 minutes long in which it really goes more in depth about how the game is played. I guess this is what happens when you use your imagination on new levels. The end result is always one that you and I, the gamer can appreciate and enjoy.
