So what is this big surprise that is being included for the next Metal Gear game "The Phantom Pain"? You and I can't know that right now because, well, it's a surprise right? But to elaborate a little bit more, here is what Hideo Kojima said with some statements recently in regards to that, in which he and his crew are hard at work implementing new ideas into The Phantom Pain that's never been done before in movies. Here are some of what he said recently.
"Specifically for the next-gen and Metal Gear Solid 5, it's not necessarily about breaking the fourth wall, but we do have a big surprise for the players in this game. We have challenged and pushed ourselves with something that movies can't do but only games can do. It hasn't been done before."
Kojima also expressed an interest in the Kinect camera for Xbox One, saying he is excited about the feature of the camera to be able to read the facial expressions of the players. Kojima had already stated a while back that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of The Phantom Pain will look even sharper than the original intended targeted consoles for Xbox360 and PS3. The E3 footage didn't do full justice for the true potential of the next installment of Metal Gear.
Currently, The Phantom Pain has a release time frame of late 2014 to early 2015, the fiscal year time window that is. I know that seems a bit vague right now, but then again, we are looking at the worlds first open world Metal Gear title. Solid Snake is slow and stealthy to win the race, and not exactly in a rush.
