Kojima shares some new details about the next Metal Gear Solid game and how it compares with the close combat in Peace Walker

The number one goal in making sequels or even titles slightly related is to do one better than the last. One does it by building upon what they learned from producing past games. It seems Peace Walker has become something a catalyst for The Phantom Pain, as Hideo Kojima shares some new information about it in terms of "close quarters combat". Peace Walker had a teen rating, instead of the usual mature rating Metal Gear Solid usually gets. The appeal to teens was a given in that the combat system was somewhat different than The Phantom Pain will have. A more realistic approach was shown in the E3 open world trailer, as you saw Snake take a gun from an enemy, and then fire it quickly killing him in the process. This is the sort of thing Kojima is shooting for, if you catch my drift.

Recently Kojima issued a few statements....

-In my next game, things will be for real. No Wall smash.

-Not like Manga like “PW” (Peace Walker), it will be “CQC enemies into walls” for real.

-When I told my staff to implement “Wall smash CQC enemies into wall” in PW, they didn’t really like that idea. But my intention was how “MGS” can be implemented in PSP to bring the real thrill of CQC for teenager(s). That aim in a way succeeded.

-BTW, there will be crawling in the next “MGS”.

-There will not be like “Cautious advance” that appeared in “MGS4″.

-You can steal the weapon from enemy and fire as shown in E3 trailer.

-Of course there will be online.

-Restriction of using enemy’s weapon was because of the future setting w/ID weapons. Next game setting is in old days so u can use them.

Also, don't forget to check out some recent photos of Hideo Kojima, as he seems to be making some sort of cameo appearance or possible Easter egg, in his own game. Nice outfit by the way. Got to get me one of those sometime.
