Dance Dance Revolution Classroom Edition takes Canadian classes by storm with some beats kids will love

Getting healthy and staying in shape these days has always been hard to get kids to do. They would rather sit on the couch, eat pizza, and play video games until it's time for bed. Then get up and do the same thing again the next day. What is a parent to do? Aside from that, some schools are starting to make the effort of exercise a rather fun one, and they managed to do it in the form of Dance Dance Revolution. DDR for years now has made the youth today enjoy dancing to their favorite beats, while giving them some of the exercise they so desperately need. Schools have taken another step and are now using DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition, another version designed for the students.

With DDR Classroom Edition, up to 48 students can participate at one time using wireless mats, all linked to a machine running a special version of DDR. Canada has taken the same initiative as America has in the fight against childhood obesity, St. Teresa Catholic Elementary School being one of them. When Konami partnered with United Health Care earlier this year, more and more schools have been taking notice and getting in on the act, while having fun in the process. Who says exercise has to be boring, and St. Teresa has proven that well, as you can see in the photo below as they gather in the gym for some nice DDR fun. Now that Edmonton has taken a step in the right direction with helping kids stay in shape, perhaps more Canadian schools can take note and get those kids off the couch and into the groove of dance to great music beats.

A video of DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition can be seen as a demonstration below.
