Every now and then I'll see a newcomer to the gaming scene, one that tends to borrow a few concepts here and there from games of the old 8-bit and 16-bit days. Castlevania has almost always been a platform for future titles, and not just because of its style, but also how it plays. Valdis Story Abyssal City is certainly one such case, and has recently landed on the Steam format for you Steam subscribers. Thanks to the Greenlight community, Valdis has been given the go ahead and is ready to add to your collection for just under $15.
Valdis plays similar to Castlevania in the respects of how you fight enemies, as that classic whipping action the Belmont clan has brought us over the years has spilled over into cool new titles like this one. Just looking at a couple of pictures below shows how even the look of the game is somewhat retrospective of the "Vania" games.
