Kojima Productions opens its doors to the media, and reveals how Ground Zeroes is developing along with Solid Snake

If you're going to make an large open world Metal Gear Solid game, you just might need a pretty big studio to handle the operation. Yesterday Kojima Production's Los Angeles division opened its doors to the press and gave some details on how the development of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are coming along.

"Los Angeles is ground zero for the best studios, facilities and world-class talent, we are leaning on these local resources to build an incredible team to create gaming experiences that are just as compelling as any film or television show."

"The reason we created the LA studio here isn't because we want to branch out our franchise or we wanted to have and advantage in the localization process." I want them to kind of compete, but kinda co-operate and work together to form the true form of Kojima Productions."

Last year when Kojima showcased the demo for Ground Zeroes, the world was shocked to see how unbelievable the world looked, whether it was realistic looking rain water drizzling down Snakes clothing, or the photo realistic look and feel of the world around him. This on top of an open world setting running on current generation hardware. The Fox Engine had taken gaming to a new dimension.  So what of the LA branch's purpose besides making the most beautiful Metal Gear we've ever witnessed? How about bringing back to life the online mode?

Summer of last year marked the end of the online mode Konami had dished out for Guns of the Patriots. Now it's making a solid comeback, and likely will be better than ever. Let's do another recap shall we? I can't get enough of those two videos.
