Super Castlevania 4 is ready to whip you into shape as it hits the Wii-U Virtual Console in Japan next week

It's a whip, it's holy water, it's fantastic Mode 7 warping effects! That last one is most likely what Super Castlevania IV for the Super Nintendo was famous for. It made really good use of what the SNES was beefed up with in terms of hardware scaling, which was a first in Castlevania history. I remember doing my best to save up money just so I could get my hands on that particular game, and having played it to the point of massive fatigue and falling asleep. Well, that was a few generations ago, and now just as it seems that classic hits like that one have gone the way of the dinosaurs, here comes the Wii-U to resurrect Dracula once again, something that's only supposed to happen every 100 years or so.

In Japan, that is for right now, as Super Castlevania 4 will be landing on the Wii-U's Virtual Console next week. What about the rest of us? Fingers crossed for right now. But for you Japanese owners, you can have this nice gem all to your self in the confines of your living room for 800 yen. So reports GoNintendo's Vernon Schieck on Twitter recently. As far as the realm of 2D Castlevania hits go, Symphony of the Night and Super Castlevania IV are likely in the top two positions for me. Raise your hand and yell "What is a man!?", if you remember playing both of those. How about a long play video below?
