Gradius 5 is possibly heading to the Playstation 3 soon, according to an ESRB rating that might bring back this great shooter

It's been far too long since I've posted about anything new happening with Gradius games. Some have gone so far as to think that Konami might have just abandoned the series and left it in the dust. Well that could be put to rest soon enough, I hope, as the ESRB, a rating system that determines the software rating for video games, (Entertainment Software Rating Board) has put up a page for none other than the awesome Gradius V. The board has given it a rating of "Teen", or to put it in other rating words a "Mild Fantasy Violence" listing for the PS3.  If a Playstation 3 Gradius V makes a launch, it will be the first time in years the series has gotten a new dose of attention.

Back in 2004, when Gradius 5 hit the Playstation 2, it brought back a series that had seemed to be long since vanished. Since then, the only real comeback the series has made, was when it launched a Gradius Rebirth set on the Nintendo WiiWare format which originally were released on the MSX computer system. So far, there is no word whatsoever as to when it will be released, or if this ESRB rating even means that it will be released in the first place. Simply getting listed with the ESRB is not a guarantee of a launch title.
