The beloved and missed Michiru Yamane and her influence in game music soundracks like Suikoden III and Castlevania

Michiru Yamane is certainly a name you've seen more than once when the credits roll, after completing that long and laborious Castlevania game. But did you know her handy work also extended into the realm of Suikoden? Indeed, this famous Japanese music composer is responsible for a number of game music soundtracks to hits like Suikoden 3! If you're a fan of the series, you know exactly what I mean. Although Michiru's composing in Castlevania Symphony of the Night (SOTN), Konami certainly saw fit for her to show her stuff in the Suikoden series as well.

So where is she now? Michiry Yamane left Konami years ago, back in 2008. After 20 years of faithful service, she decided it was time to move on to something else, basically an easier job that was much closer to her home. The stress from traveling home to Konami everyday must have taken its toll, among other things. Like the desire to become an independent composer and work on other styles of music. The last project she was involved in that I'm aware of was Mushihimesama Bug Panic, an iPhone and iPod Touch game and rather cute one at that. It's made by Cave and you listen to a sample of the music soundtrack below, some of Yamane's fine work to boot.

Although Michiru has long since moved on, her long time work at Konami will never be forgotten. New things get old with time, but classics like the ones she produced will never fade away. They will be just like fine wine, and only get better with age.

For more about Michiru, check out a couple of other articles, both of which pay homage to her handy work.
