An unusual and likely bogus release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is already posted on one retail site

Doesn't this beat everything you've ever seen in your whole life? Well probably not, but it's certainly on the list of things to stick your nose up at. But I want to throw it out there anyway, simply because it seems so ridiculous. We've been told time and again that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will get a release date, but nothing confirmed, nor likely confirmed to an exact date has been done yet. Late 2014 was one of the earliest possible times, even somewhat stated by a Konami executive that the release time was in the neighborhood of the fiscal year of that time frame. But one site has seen fit to actually *try*, and yes I do stress the word *try* to put a more exact release date for The Phantom Pain.

January 3rd, 2014!

Let's do ourselves a favor, and treat that date as if it were total BULLCRAP., because it probably is. The site listing it for that date is Zavvi. I wouldn't be surprised if it were nothing more than an underhanded advertising method used to draw attention to their site. But just in case they decide to take that down before you have a chance to read this article. Here are the details cut and pasted from their own site.

Want more proof that they posted it? Here is a snapshot I took the moment I saw it on their site.

So there you have it, we will see the outcome of this so called "release date" play out as likely nothing more than some kind of joke, or ruse to get you to buy stuff at their site. Until something gets confirmed officially by Konami themselves, take this sort of thing with a grain of salt, and then walk away. Cheers.
